Special Relativity - Philosophy Dictionary of Arguments

Special relativity: Special relativity describes how the laws of physics are the same for all observers in uniform motion. It was developed by Albert Einstein in 1905. It deals with uniform motion and the equivalence of all non-accelerating frames. General relativity extends this to include gravity, showing that massive objects curve spacetime, affecting the motion of other objects. See also Theory of relativity, Spacetime, Space curvature, Gravitation, A. Einstein.
