Truth-Based Semantics - Philosophy Dictionary of Arguments

Truth-Based Semantics: Truth semantics carries out the step from reference semantics, which examines the relation of linguistic expressions to objects, to the relation of entire sentences, which can be true or false, to facts or situations. This enables a systematic theory of meaning. See also Correspondence Theory, Truth, Truth-Conditional Semantics, Truth Tables, Truth Conditions, Meaning Theory.
