 Callicles - Philosophy Dictionary of Arguments
 
Callicles: Sophist, late 5th century BC. He argued that the right was established in orderto defend the weak against the strong. This corresponds to a subjective conception of law. Callicles is known only from Plato's Gorgias. (See Der Kleine Pauly, Lexikon der Antike, Munich 1979). See also right right, values, norms.
