Assimilation: Assimilation is a cognitive process proposed by Jean Piaget in which new information is inserted into existing mental structures or schemas. It enables individuals to interpret and understand new experiences by fitting them into pre-existing schemas, which promotes cognitive efficiency and adaptation.
