Description Logic - Psychology Dictionary of Arguments

Description logic: Description logic (DL) is a family of formal knowledge representation languages. It is a subset of first-order logic, but it is more expressive than propositional logic. DLs are used to describe and reason about the relevant concepts of an application domain (known as terminological knowledge). DLs are particularly important in providing a logical formalism for ontologies and the Semantic Web. The Web Ontology Language (OWL) and its profiles are based on DLs. See also knowledge representation.
