Alzheimer's disease: Alzheimer's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive cognitive decline, memory loss and impairment of daily life. It mainly affects older adults and leads to changes in behavior and personality. The underlying cause is the accumulation of abnormal protein deposits in the brain, which disrupt communication between nerve cells and lead to a gradual deterioration of cognitive abilities.
