Friedrich Waismann (1896-1959), Austrian mathematician, physicist, and philosopher. His major works include Einführung in das mathematische Denken. Die Begriffsbildung der modernen Mathematik (1936), The Principles of Linguistic Philosophy (1965), and How I See Philosophy (1968). His fields of specialization were philosophy of mathematics, philosophy of language, and epistemology.
