Melvin Pollner (1940-2007), American sociologist. His major works include Mundane reason: reality in everyday life and sociological discourse (1987), Ethnomethodology and person-centered practices (1990, with David Goode), and Ethnomethodology and ethnography (2001). His fields of specialization were sociology of mental illness, problems of identity, and economic sociology.
