Wassily Leontief: Wassily Leontief (1906–1999) was a Russian-American economist best known for developing input-output analysis, a method that models economic systems by analyzing inter-industry relationships. His groundbreaking work, The Structure of the American Economy, 1919–1939, applied this method to the U.S. economy. He won the 1973 Nobel Prize in Economics for this contribution. Leontief's insights advanced economic planning, environmental economics, and global trade analysis, significantly influencing policy and economic research.
