Gestalt Psychology - Psychology Dictionary of Arguments
Gestalt psychology is a branch of psychology that emerged in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century. It emphasizes that mental and psychological phenomena are perceived as holistic, organized structures ("Gestalts"), not as the sum of their individual parts. Gestalt psychologists study how people perceive natural phenomena as ordered patterns and emphasize perception and problem solving.
