Jerry Fodor (1935-2017), American philosopher and author. His major works include The Language of Thought (1975), Representations: Philosophical Essays on the Foundations of Cognitive Science (1981), and Psychosemantics: The Problem of Meaning in the Philosophy of Mind (1987). His fields of specialization were philosophy of mind, cognitive science, and philosophy of language.
