Charles S. Carver (1947), American Professor at Department of Psychology, University of Miami. His major works include Affect and the functional bases of behaviour: on the dimensional structure of affective experience, Personality and Social Psychology (2001), Negative affects deriving from the behavioral approach system (2004), and Origins and functions of positive and negative affect: a control-process view (1990, with M. F. Scheier). His fields of specialization are self-regulation processes, behavioral approach and avoidance systems.
