Yehoshua Bar-Hillel (1915-1975), Israeli philosopher, mathematician, and linguist. His major works include Language and Information: Selected Essays on Their Theory and Application (1964), Aspects of Language: Essays and Lectures on Philosophy of Language, Linguistic Philosophy, and Methodology of Linguistics (1970), and Foundations of Set Theory (with Abraham Fraenkel, 1958, 1973). His fields of specialization were philosophy, linguistics, mathematics, and computer science.
