Yehoshua Bar-Hillel (1915-1975), Israeli philosopher, mathematician, and linguist. His major works include Language and Information: Selected Essays on Their Theory and Application (1964), Aspects of Language: Essays and Lectures on Philosophy of Language, Linguistic Philosophy, and Methodology of Linguistics (1970), and Foundations of Set Theory (with Abraham Fraenkel, 1958, 1973).
