al-Kindi: Al-Kindi (c. 801-873) was an Arab philosopher, mathematician, and scientist. Known as the "Philosopher of the Arabs," his major works include "On the Use of the Indian Numerals" and "On First Philosophy." He contributed to various fields including mathematics, astronomy, and metaphysics.
