| Delegative Democracy - Economics Dictionary of Arguments | |||
| Delegative democracy: Delegative democracy, proposed by Juan Linz, involves elected leaders who exercise considerable power without constant institutional review, similar to a "trust" system. Leaders use extensive decision-making powers that come directly from voters rather than institutions. This model emphasizes responsiveness, but carries the risk of reduced accountability due to reduced checks and balances. See also Democracy. _____________Annotation: The above characterizations of concepts are neither definitions nor exhausting presentations of problems related to them.
