Baruch Spinoza (1632-1677), Dutch philosopher. His major works include Tractatus Theologico-Politicus (1670), Ethica (1677), and Short Treatise on God, Man, and His Well-Being (1660). He mainly worked on ethics, metaphysics, epistemology, and political philosophy.
