Francois Quesnay (1694-1774), French physician and economist. Father of physiocracy, the first systematic school of political economy. His major works include Essai physique sur l'économie animale (1736), Tableau économique (1758), and Maximes générales du gouvernement économique (1758). He mainly worked on economics, agriculture, and physiocracy.
