His major works include Hereditary Genius: An Inquiry into Its Laws and Consequences (1869), Inquiries into Human Faculty and Its Development (1883), and Finger Prints (1888). His fields of specialization were eugenics, psychology, anthropology, statistics, and heritability of intelligence.
