Art/Epicurus/Adorno: compared to art, Epicurus acts somewhat ambiguous. Because art is not true knowledge, but also not direct sensual pleasure, he does not place it too high. He also occasionally adopted the whole Greek scolding on art.
It is precisely in this somewhat rationalist assessment of art as a pleasure that Epicurus has the specifically bourgeois features that can be stated in thinking of Hellenism far beyond it.
