Body, philosophy: the philosophical discussion is about the importance of the human body for knowledge about the mind. While some authors emphasize the independence of the mind, others perceive the body as essential to the self-identification of individuals. Examples are thought experiments in connection with interchanged bodies or exchanged brains. See also self-identification, self-reference, change, person, individuals, mind body problem, mind.
