Willard Van Orman Quine: W.V.O. Quine (1908 – 2000) was an American philosopher and logician in the analytic philosophy, considered one of the most influential philosophers of the 20th century. Major works are From a Logical Point of View (1953), Word and Object (1960), The Philosophy of Logic (1970), Ontological Relativity (1969), Pursuits of Truth (1990). Modal Logic/Quine/Hintikka: Quine has retreated and said that there must be nothing self-contradictory in the use of modalities in our object language.
Problem: a problem are the meta-language expressions in the object language.
