Sören Kierkegaard on Tragedy - Dictionary of Arguments
Gadamer I 134 Tragedy/Kierkegaard/Gadamer: What is reflected in the reflection on the tragic from Aristotle to the present day is (...) not an unchanging being. Such change does not simply mean, however, that the question of the unified nature of the tragic is irrelevant but, on the contrary, that the phenomenon is presented in its outline contracted into a historical unity. The reflex of the antique tragic in the modern tragic that Kierkegaard speaks of(1) is constantly present in all recent reflections on the tragic. >Tragedy/Gadamer, >Tragedy/Aristotle. 1.S.
