Systems, philosophy of science: systems are compilations of rules for the formation of statements on a previously defined subject domain. Apart from the - usually recursive - rules for the combination of expressions or signs, the specification of the vocabulary or sign set of the system is also required. System/Projection/Vollmer: Thesis: so the projective model explains the apparent incompatibility of different properties such as mind and physique as different aspects of the same thing. This is not a throwback to the postulation of an unknown substance.

Solution: System concept of the system theory/Vollmer: E.g. diamond/graphite: made of the same carbon atoms, but made of different structures. - E.g. diamond/silicon: same structure, different components. (Here silicon) - No component is logically pre-structured. - This shows how little is gained by the knowledge of the components.
