Self, philosophy: the concept of the self cannot be exactly separated from the concept of the I. Over the past few years, more and more traditional terms of both concepts have been relativized. In particular, a constant nature of the self or the I is no longer assumed today. See also brain/brain state, mind, state of mind, I, subjects, perception, person.

Strawson V 30
Self / subject / consciousness / self-consciousness / Kant: if we abstract from our body and pay attention only to our states of consciousness, we cannot encounter anything - otherwise confusion of the experience of unity with the unity of experience - there are probably applicable criteria for the identity of the subject - "The thinking being is also an object of the external senses." - I do not have to look whether I am the one who is in pain.
