Realism/pain/other minds/Dummett: no problem: at any given time it is the same way for the other person as it is for me when I have a toothache, or it is not so.
My understanding of the meaning of the sentence is independent of my knowledge about what makes my basis of assessment.
Every single one of us knows what it means when a person has a toothache.
