Space/Naomi Klein: Klein describes the conquest of all spaces, be they urban spaces, schools and universities, be they imaginary spaces and imagined identities, by the brands. Since its beginning in the 19th century and its further development in the course of the 20th century, it has distinguished classical advertising from the novel brand policy of the 1990s. With this policy the products themselves ((s) without special characteristics) are transformed into transcendent machines for conveying meaning(1).
