Emancipation/Huntington: Thesis: the upswing of non-Western cultures in the 21st century is regarded as self-induced, i.e. not attributed to a Western "origin" within these cultural circles, although the use of "soft" power resources in the sense of Joseph Nye (1) contributed to Westernization. This phenomenon of "indigenization" (2) testifies to an emancipation: even if the prosperity of non-Western cultures has grown on the foundation of Western ideas, the new heyday is rather interpreted as the result of independent, cultural achievements.
