Interventions/Huntington: Huntington describes the intervention of the Americans unconventionally as "cultural realpolitik" (1) in order to avoid intervention by fundamentalist Islamic states such as Iran and Saudi Arabia. In addition, the US administration was under pressure to act as a Western "good" against Serbian "evil".
