Hans J. Morgenthau on Power - Dictionary of Arguments

Brocker I 285
Power/Politics/Morgenthau: Whoever wants to understand the social arena must first look at the phenomenon of power, must recognize power as an objective as well as a central medium of politics. Here Morgenthau finds not only the "raw material of the social world" (1), but also the pivot of all activities in society.
Brocker I 286
Morgenthau emphasizes the psychological dimension of power and from there the narrow limits of its measurability. Typical patterns of action are: Preserving power, expanding power, demonstrating power, ideologically disguising the pursuit of power.
>Power/Nietzsche.
