Education policy/Friedman: According to Friedman, the education system, which from a conservative point of view serves not least to convey "state-preserving" values and ways of thinking, would have to be privatized, as would media, transport and energy sectors, with the result that political groups lose some of their beloved opportunities for power, influence and earnings. Educational sector/Friedman: Friedman acknowledges here that a stable and democratic society cannot exist without a minimum of education and knowledge among the majority of its citizens and without widely accepted general values. (2). Especially for an immigration country like the USA it was initially necessary "to create a certain degree of conformity and loyalty to the generally valid values" (3). The problem today, however, is more the guarantee of diversity and differentiation. However, this does not mean that schools or universities have to be run by the state. Friedman recommends state education vouchers.
