Polis/oikos/Aristoteles: The ethically impregnated concept of political practice, paradigmatically formulated by Aristotle, is based on the strict separation of political and economic spheres: The economic differences between households have no impact on the political participation rights of citizens. The women belonging to the oikos and the slaves, over which the landlord has as despot with violence over life and death, are excluded from the polis.
