Friedrich Nietzsche on Person - Dictionary of Arguments

Danto III 180
Person/Nietzsche/Danto: When Nietzsche speaks of morality as an antithesis, he has in mind its repressive effect, which we can regard as an unhindered expression of wishes, needs and desires. A "natural" person would then be one who simply satisfies his/her needs; the person would behave like an infant, perhaps even an animal, or more precisely: like a late Roman emperor.
Nietzsche: All passions have a time when they are merely fatal, where they drag their victims down with the severity of stupidity.(1)
