Ideology: A) Ideology is a set of attitudes that exists in a person or group. – B) Ideology is the set of possible operations that can be performed with an ontology. E.g. with the ontology of the natural numbers, the operations of multiplication and addition are possible; the ontology must be extended to the rational numbers for the operation of the division.

Michel Foucault on Ideology - Dictionary of Arguments

II 262
Science: Once it is constituted, it does not absorb all that the discursive practice formed in which it appears. It also does not dissolve the knowledge that surrounds it in order to evade errors.
Ideology/Foucault: does not lie outside of science. There is no sufficient reason to turn the totality of their statements into error, in contradiction, and in the absence of objectivity. No question of the application of knowledge, but the question of the existence of discursive practice and its functioning alongside other practices.
A discourse that corrects errors cannot be separated from ideology. Science can work ideologically. Science is a practice alongside other practices.
