Jürgen Habermas on Validity - Dictionary of Arguments

III 22-24
Validity/Methods/Meaning/application/Sense/Theory/Metatheory/Habermas: methodological questions are about questions of understanding the sense.
Theoretical questions are about actions.
Questions of meaning are all about the sense that was understood.
Questions of validity are about implied correctness.

III 375
Validity/Habermas: to arrive at a theory of understanding oriented action, we must generalize the concept of validity, beyond the truth validity of propositions. Validity conditions can then no longer only be identified at the semantic level for sentences, but at the pragmatic level for expressions. To do this, there must be a break with the "logos-labelling of the language" (1), i.e. with the privileged representation function. This also has consequences for the ontological prerequisites of language theory.

>Communication/Habermas, >Communicative practice/Habermas,
>Communicative rationality/Habermas, >Society.
