Spirit/Schmitt: The speech of "intellectual history" was widespread in Germany at that time by Wilhelm Dilthey and his school. Dilthey's concept, however, was limited to a historical-philological positivism by the founding of the German Quarterly Bulletin for Literary Studies and Intellectual History.
