Subjectivism: In philosophy, subjectivism posits that reality is dependent on individual perception or interpretation. In psychology, it refers to the idea that reality is shaped by personal experiences, emotions, and perspectives, influencing one's understanding of the world. Martin Heidegger on Subjectivism - Dictionary of Arguments

Gadamer I 105
Subjectivism/Heidegger/Gadamer: The productive aspect of Heidegger's criticism of the subjectivism of the modern age seems to me that his temporal interpretation of being has opened up its own possibilities for this.
>Subjectivism
.
Interpretation of being from the horizon of time does not mean, as one repeatedly misunderstands, that existence would be so radically temporalized that it could consider nothing more as everlasting or eternal, but would understand itself completely in terms of its own time and future.
>Being/Heidegger, >Time, >Time/Heidegger, >Horizon,
>Temporality, >Future.
If this were the opinion, then it would not be a criticism and overcoming of subjectivism at all, but rather an "existentialist" radicalization of the same, to which one can certainly predict its collectivist future.
But the question of philosophy, which is at issue here, is directed precisely at this subjectivism itself. It is only for this reason that it is taken to extremes, to question it.
>Philosophy.
The question of philosophy asks what the being of understanding oneself is. With this question, it fundamentally transcends the horizon of this understanding of itself.
>Understanding/Heidegger.
By uncovering time as its hidden reason, it does not preach a blind commitment out of nihilistic despair, but rather opens up to an experience that has been closed up to now and that transcends thinking out of subjectivity, which Heidegger calls being. ((s) The context in which Gadamer investigates this is that of the >Truth of Art and the >Aesthetic Experience).
