Psychoanalysis: Psychoanalysis is a set of theories and therapeutic techniques that deal with the unconscious mind. It is a depth psychology, meaning that it seeks to understand the underlying causes of human behavior, including mental disorders. See also Psychology, Understanding, Unconscious.

In the analytical discussion, the roles are distributed asymmetrically, doctor and patient do not behave like proponent and opponent. The preconditions for a discourse can only be fulfilled after the therapy has been successful. I therefore call the form of argumentation, which serves to elucidate systematic self-deception, therapeutic criticism.
