Actions, philosophy: Actions are conscious or unconscious human actions as opposed to physical events. The action can take place against the will of the agent, but only if the opposed will is not strong enough to prevent the execution entirely.

Action/Economy/Behaviour/Sen: Thesis: Economic action is ultimately based on qualitative value decisions that exceed quantitative logic not only partially, but in principle. However, since cost-benefit analysis subjects all options to the dictates of quantity ("more is better than less"), it must in turn be constrained by qualitative political value judgements; the independent economic mind must always be brought to political reason again.
