Learning theories/Developmental psychology/Upton: the perspective of learning in developmental psychology perspective suggests that the key to understanding development lies in observable behaviour and an individual’s response to environmental stimuli. The assumption here is that behaviour is a learned response to reinforcement provided by the environment. The learning and conditioning principles described in the behavioural theories of B.F. Skinner (1936)(1) and John B. Watson (1913(2), 1924(3)) account for human development.
