Animal studies: Animal studies in psychology involve research using animals to explore and understand behavior, cognition, and neurobiology in controlled settings. While controversial for ethical reasons, animal studies provide data that contribute to our understanding of both human and animal behavior, often informing therapeutic interventions and treatments. Jeffrey A. Gray on Animal Studies - Dictionary of Arguments
Corr I 350 Animal Studies/Gray: Following the emphasis of behavioural psychology on overt behaviour, Gray did not favour a research strategy based on a purely human and verbal source of information (e.g., self-reports of patients), but one that could be tested, via rigorous experimentation, in non-human animals: the goal of identifying the neural substrate for anxiety was, and largely still is, only possible with the use of experimental animals. Gray’s whole theoretical approach rests and falls on these major assumptions. >Method/Gray, >Fear/Gray. Philip J. Corr, „ The Reinforcement Sensitivity Theory of Personality“, in: Corr, Ph.
