Equality: A. In mathematics, equality is a relationship between two quantities or expressions, asserting that they have the same value. It is written using the equals sign (=). For example, 2+3=5 and x=2x/2 are both equalities. The concept is also used in many other fields, such as physics, engineering, and computer science. - B. Equality in politics is the idea that all people are equal in fundamental worth or moral status. This means that all people deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their race, gender, religion, social class, or any other factor. See also Equal sign, Equations.

Anthony Giddens on Equality - Dictionary of Arguments

Brocker I 870
Equality/Giddens: At its core, Giddens' argument aims at a substantial increase in the meaning of individual self-responsibility, which critics often regarded (and blamed) as the main part of the neoliberal heritage in the "third way": "But we should abandon the often obsessive fixation on inequality in the past and consider exactly what equality consists of. Equality must contribute to diversity instead of hindering it".(1)
>Justice
, >Injustice, >Equal opportunities, >Inequality, >Society, >Social policy.
In truth, it is Giddens' concretisation of equality as inclusion in the sense of comprehensive opportunities for all to participate in working life and in society as a whole to do a realistic version of the concept of equality that is compatible with social change, changed attitudes in the social centre (individualisation) and a modern synthesis of social and economic policy. The social democratic fundamental value of equality is not abandoned by Giddens according to his own self-understanding, but merely differentiated and concretized in the concept of inclusion.
>Social policy, >Economic policies, >Social state.
