Blogs/Blogger/Software/Evan Williams/Shirky: In the 1990s, Evan Williams company Pyra Labs worked on complex project management software. In the course of coordinating employees, Williams wrote a simple program that allowed employees to post text messages with new posts in a central location to help others understand the current state of development. This software, as simple as it was, quickly became more successful than the management software Pyra was looking for. It provides software for the operation of weblogs and led to the foundation of Blogger.com.
Evan Williams was also involved in the technical development of the software for Twitter.
