Truth-maker/Austin: must correspond to the referring part of the statement, not only to the descriptive. Ultimately, the whole statement.
Strawson: there are truth-makers, but only as corresponding to the descriptive part, not the referring. - Otherwise logical type error. - A statement never corresponds to a thing.(1) >Correspondence theory, >Objects, >Description, >Description levels.
