I (e) 101f
Example: If I am unaware of the difference between a short-beaked echidna and a porcupine, I might call all short-beaked echidna I run into a porcupine. But since I learned the word "porcupine" in a particular environment, my word "porcupine" does not refer to short-beaked echidna, but to porcupines.
I (e) 101 f
Porcupines are what my word refers to and it is porcupines that I believe to have before me, when I honestly say: "This is a porcupine." My ignorance of the circumstances that determine what I mean is not suited in the least to show that I do not know what I mean and think. Cf. >circumstances.
