I 5/6
FactsPrior: true propositions are in order - but not true propositions.
>Facts/Austin, >Facts/Brandom.
But also partial sentences are facts - they are not tied to utterance.
>Clauses, >Utterances.
Propositions are not tied to uttering: the sun was hot before man appeared.
>Propositions, >Reality.
I 23
Fact/Strawson: facts are what statements notice - not what statements (sentences) are.
>Facts/Strawson.
Prior: They are not an object in addition to objects. - Facts and statements fit together, they were made to fit together.
>World/Thinking, >Language and thought.
PriorVsStrawson: then "no facts without statement" (false) and "Facts are logical constructions" (also wrong because they are "in the world").
Cf. >World/Rorty.
Wittgenstein: facts are the world, not in the world.
>Facts/Wittgenstein, >States of affairs/Wittgenstein.
Prior: this is harmless, they are not "in" sentences either.
Cfr. >Thought/Russell.
