Rorty VI 72
Rorty/Justification/Putnam: there are four principles:
1. There is a state of affairs with respect to which something is justified.
2. Justification is independent if the majority of the concerning culture relatives would say it was justified.
3. Our norms and standards evolve over time.
4. Our norms always reflect our interests.
Our norms are always reformable.
Justification/Putnam: we cannot justify our beliefs to everyone, but to those whose views coincide appropriately with our own.
>Convention, >Culture.

Putnam III 171
PutnamVsDerrida: to brand reason and justification as repression, opens the door for extremists.
>Derrida.

Truth/qualifying assertibility/Putnam: justification can get lost, truth cannot. Truth is independent of justification here and now, but not independent of any justification. Truth is not gradual but gradually justified. >Assertibility.
