Definition/Fodor/Lepore: the object can define the property: to be the best fit. E.g. criminal: one who trespasses the law: i.e. a trespasser and not a stone, for example ((s)This is synthetic). >Analyticity/syntheticity.
Fodor/Lepore: the condition is the defining characteristic. From it follows nothing more than that this object fits best. From the fact that several conditions are met it does not follow that the concept is somehow holistic.
